Long-time Festival supporter Bluebell Dairy has cause to celebrate when we return to Clumber Park, having just received yet another Great Taste Award for its incredible artisan ice-cream flavours.
Out of 12,722 products entered nationally and internationally in this year’s Great Taste Awards, Bluebell were one of only 208 to be awarded three Gold Stars for its delicious Amaretto and Black Cherry Ice Cream.
Bluebell was then further shortlisted by a panel of 40 food experts and were invited to attend the Awards Dinner on September 1st in London.
Director Rosemary Brown explains: “At the awards dinner, we were given the amazing news that we had made it to the final 33 products and were one of only three finalists for the Midlands – an absolutely amazing achievement! We are absolutely delighted!
“Devilishly Chocolate and Salted Caramel Butterscotch also achieved one Star Gold success which means that we maintain the coveted name of Great Taste Producer.
“It goes without saying that we will be sampling Amaretto and Black Cherry on Saturday and Sunday, as well as our very new Autumn Flavour – Cinnamon Apple Crumble. These of course, will be supported by a delicious selection of our other flavours.”
The Great Taste Awards, organised by the Guild of Fine Food, are the acknowledged benchmark for fine food and drink. It has been described as the ‘Oscars’ of the food world and the ‘epicurean equivalent of the Booker prize’. Quite simply the Great Taste logo is the sign you can trust when buying food and drink in your local, quality retailer.
In 2019 over 500 judges, including specially trained food writers inputting judges’ comments, came together at 75 judging days from March through to early July to decide this year’s winners.
