Hey Festival Goers,
What a year we’ve all had so far! We run the Festival of Food & Drink with the passion and support of so many delicious traders, an amazing team, incredible and loyal visitors every year. We sprinkle over the top the fantastic supporters we have, the special guests in both guest chefs and musicians, and the lovely classes and workshops too.
We’ve been monitoring the news daily like everyone else for updates on what is re-opening and when. As a family business, we always try to do our best by everyone and work with complete integrity in all that we do. Our traders, guests and team form a big family each year to deliver an amazing festival for our visitors.
Over the past few weeks, we have been liaising with Clumber Park National Trust, as well as reviewing what government has announced on mass gatherings. As a team, we had so many plans. This year would have looked very different allowing for social distancing to ensure sure all visitors and traders, team and guests were safe. So, it is with a heavy heart that, after consulting with our team, the venue, local authorities and advisors, we have no choice but to postpone the event to 2021.
We know many festival goers have already bought tickets and we are so sorry we cannot go ahead. We have held out in the hope that we would be able to get more news from authorities or reassurance in being able to run the festival. With so many involved – traders, visitors, guests and staff – we feel that we need to make the decision now. As a team we are devastated but we will be back in 2021 and can’t wait to deliver the best festival we have ever run!
While other companies may run the risk, we value our festival visitors and what we have achieved over the past eight years is too precious to put it in jeopardy. We’re gutted we won’t see you all this year but planning for the Festival of Food and Drink 2021 starts now!
For all those who have already booked tickets, you have the option of rolling your tickets over to 2021. This will be done automatically for you, with your ticket valid on the equivalent day next year, so you don’t need to do anything. However, if you would like a full refund, please contact the ticket agent at https://www.seetickets.com/customerservice
The same applies to our traders, who also have the option of rolling their booking to 2021 or contacting us for a full refund.
In the lead up to our date for 2020 and over the weekend of 19th & 20th September, please keep an eye on our social media and website. We will be bringing you a list of our fabulous traders, with many selling on-line to keep their businesses going in these tough times. We will highlight them and what they have to offer. In addition, we’ll be bringing you some familiar faces with demos, top tips and more.
On behalf of the team, we thank you all for your continued support and we can’t wait to be back on 18th and 19th September 2021.
The very kindest regards
Bev and the Festival team
