The health and safety of our visitors, traders, guests, and team always remains our priority. We continue to monitor and follow all UK Government’s guidance regarding COVID19, to ensure that our festival can take place.
For those who have visited Festival of Food and Drink before, you may notice a few changes for this year to help us ensure that everybody who visits, trade or works at our festival can do so safely.
Please help us to help you and all our visitors, traders, guests, and staff to stay safe by respecting all people on site and following all guidelines/procedures we have in place, maintain good hand hygiene and keep a safe distance between yourself and other households/groups throughout your visit.
WHAT CAN WE DO?
It is a shared responsibility to ensure the safety of everyone during the festival. To do this, we have made specific changes to the way our festival is organised, upheld and maintained.
Hand sanitising stations will be located at the entrance, as well around the festival.
Wearing of masks is advised (not compulsory)
There will be Increased cleaning across the site including toilets and bin handles
One-way entrance and exits from the site, we may also add a one way systems around our busy areas.
Open-fronted market style structures may be required instead of large closed marquees – Traders will have open-fronted structures. This is to ensure that all visitors can remain outside in the fresh air, rather than creating temporary indoor areas/dwell points. If the weather is forecast to be less than perfect, please make sure you ae dressed appropriately and bring a brolly!
Street Food & food traders will comply with current COVID 19 Guidance. All traders will have hand-sanitiser available and prominently displayed on their stall. If required, traders selling freshly prepared food/drink (not pre-packaged) will be requested to wear an appropriate face covering and gloves (unless they have a medical reason exempting them from so doing). They will also have guards in front of their produce.
We are encouraging traders to support contactless payments where possible. We are working on boosting wifi across the site to enable card payments. Please bring cash as a back-up, but pay by contactless card where possible.
Larger workshop spaces and theatres will have adequate spacing between chairs according to social distancing rules.
In places we will have wider aisles to support social distancing
WHAT CAN YOU DO
While we make every effort to ensure that our site is safe and welcoming for everyone to attend and work, we would greatly appreciate your help and support! To make sure we all stay safe, please can you and your family:
Read the local guidelines. Before coming to visit, make sure you’re familiar with the rules on travelling from your area to ours
Check for symptoms or signs of illness – If you, or a family member, has tested positive, displays any symptoms of COVID-19, or has been told to self-isolate, we must respectfully insist that you do not attend the festival.
Wear a mask. Wearing of masks is advised (not compulsory)
Wash your hands. Practice good hand hygiene by washing your hands, and by regularly using the hand sanitising stations located around the site.
Clean up after yourselves. Please dispose of any tissues, bottles, cartons and rubbish in our bins.
Be mindful of others. While we are all working hard to protect ourselves and each other, it’s important to consider those suffering from hidden disabilities.
As always, our lovely group of festival staff will be on hand throughout the day to help you with any queries and concerns you may have.
Please ask any questions on your way in, and we will be clearly visible around site should you need any assistance!
Practice social distancing. Please maintain at least 2 meters (6 feet) distance from others, and make sure to respect any one way system around the site
Please note that this list of measures will continue to develop in line with all the latest guidance. We will revise and update it continually as things develop and guidance/rules change.
