Great British Bake Off Finalists join Clumber Park’s Festival of Food and Drink line-up 2017

Great British Bake Off finalists Jane Beedle and Andrew Smyth are the latest names to be add to the fantastic menu of guest chefs and bakers for this year’s Festival of Food and Drink, held at Worksop’s Clumber Park on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th September 2017.

Jane will appear in the Festival’s celebrity cookery theatre, sponsored by Welbeck Farm Shop on Saturday. A professional garden designer of 15 years, Jane swapped her gardening rake for her rolling pin and followed her family’s passion for baking into the BBC’s famous Great British Bake Off tent.

After serving countless cakes, biscuits, fleur-de-lis mousses and a pie in the shape of the Tudor Rose, Jane made it to the final where she received the highly coveted Paul Hollywood handshake thanks to her delicious meringue crown.

Since the show, Jane has become a social media sensation with an immensely popular Instagram page where she documents her most impressive culinary constructions, both savoury and sweet.

On Sunday, it’s the turn of fellow finalist and Derbyshire resident Andrew to share his culinary skills. An Aerospace Engineer with a fascination of how things work, Andrew achieved the coveted Star Baker title twice on his way to the final.

He grew a firm following for his innovative creations combining his love of engineering and baking including geared pies and a gingerbread bridge. He has subsequently appeared as a regular chef on ITV’s Lorraine, at science and food festivals across the country and has even designed a rotating jet engine cake for the Duke of Cambridge!

Festival organiser Bev Channell said: “It’s great to have Jane and Andrew join us for the weekend as they are an inspiration to other keen amateurs out there. We look forward to seeing what they create for us, especially without the judges watching over them!”

Jane and Andrew will appear alongside This Morning’s resident chef Phil Vickery and Chopping Block’s Rosemary Shrager. They will offer free-to-attend demonstrations throughout the weekend as well as book signings, VIP meet and greets and much more.
